About the book
El caso extraño del Doctor Jekyll by Robert Louis Stevenson was first published in 1886. In Passage you read the full text in Spanish, marked intermediate and filed under horror.
A respectable doctor. A man who tramples a child and walks away. What could possibly link them?
The London lawyer Mr. Utterson is a dry, serious man who rarely smiles, but he is fiercely loyal to his friends. On one of their Sunday walks, his relative Richard Enfield tells him a disturbing story: late one night he saw a small, repellent man knock down a little girl and calmly walk over her, then pay the girl's family with a cheque signed by one of the most respected names in the city.
The man is called Edward Hyde, and Utterson already knows that name. It appears in the will of his old friend Dr. Henry Jekyll, who leaves everything to Hyde. Determined to understand why, Utterson begins to watch the door that Hyde uses.
Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella was an instant bestseller and gave the world a lasting image of the double life. This is an early Spanish translation, with the old-fashioned accents (á, ó) of its time.

Reading El caso extraño del Doctor Jekyll in Passage
Passage sets the book as a quiet, paginated reader in Spanish. Read at your own pace, and when a sentence stops you, tap it. You get:
- a natural translation of that exact sentence,
- a short note on the grammar, in plain words,
- the key words, which you can save with the sentence they came from,
- all of it in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Turkish or Portuguese, whichever you read best.
It's marked intermediate: comfortable once everyday Spanish feels familiar, with the harder sentences one tap away. The words you save come back later in short review games, so the book keeps teaching after you close it.
