About the book
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll was first published in 1865. In Passage you read the full text in the original English, marked beginner and filed under children.
A White Rabbit runs past, checking his pocket watch. Alice follows him down the hole without a second thought.
On a drowsy summer afternoon, bored on a grassy bank beside her sister, Alice tumbles into a world where nothing behaves as it should. One little bottle shrinks her to ten inches, one cake stretches her taller than a tree, and every creature she meets has strong opinions and no patience at all.
She swims through a pool of her own tears, takes advice from a pipe-smoking Caterpillar, sits down to a tea party that never ends with the Hatter and the March Hare, and plays croquet with flamingos for a Queen who wants everyone's head. All the while she keeps trying, very politely, to reach the loveliest garden she has ever seen.
Lewis Carroll's 1865 classic gave the world the Cheshire Cat, "curiouser and curiouser" and countless films and stage versions, and its wordplay is still a joy to read aloud.

Reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in Passage
Passage sets the book as a quiet, paginated reader in English. Read at your own pace, and when a sentence stops you, tap it. You get:
- a natural translation of that exact sentence,
- a short note on the grammar, in plain words,
- the key words, which you can save with the sentence they came from,
- all of it in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Turkish or Portuguese, whichever you read best.
It's marked beginner, so it's a good first whole book if you know the basics of English and want something you can finish. The words you save come back later in short review games, so the book keeps teaching after you close it.
